cabane de zucca articulated grey striped cargo pants
cabane de zucca is a tokyo based label founded in the 80s that has stayed under the radar from the rest of the world since its inception. the founder akira onuzaka was formerly a protege under the miyake design studio till 1988, where he started his own label and garnered an intense following for their loose silhouettes and utilitarian designs.
this piece in particular features a cargo pants done in a striped fabric that looks greyish when seen from afar. the beltloop is slightly lowered around the waist, with two front and rear pockets as well as two 3D cargo pockets found near the thighs. additional fabric has also been inserted around the knees to accommodate for daily activities eg. squatting and sitting.
the zipper is definitely the main talking point, with it running down and then diagonally towards the left crotch. other details include the drawstrings around the hem that can be cinched to create a balloon fit.
