the comme des garcons homme plus aw16 collection is about protection. models strutted down the runway in tailoring with decorative armor pieces layered on top, their jackets sliced to make way for protective elements. they were taken apart and reconstructed with floral patches to both toughen a classic garment and add a dislocated element of beauty. 

this piece in particular has silk brocades in floral motifs on the underside of the jacket, a popular material used in the 13th century. retaining the original shape of a suit jacket, this quintessential garment has been beautified in the most unlikely show - one where the focus lies in protection and functionality.
