the ss02 junya watanabe collection is one of the most recognisable junya watanabe season, or even archive as a whole. this season consisted of poem with short messages, such as ‘we must show respect for others’ and various other typography being plastered on the garments. the in-your-face nature of the design has resulted in this season being highly sought after amongst the archive fashion enthusiasts

this piece in particular features the poem in a patchwork detail that resembles old ransom notes that had newspaper cutouts forming the message. some of the letters are textured, making it slightly more interesting than the other screen printed words shown on the other garments in that collection. fits boxy and wide.
