rick owens’ work in this decade can be defined by one shoe - the kiss boots. the outrageous 11cm heels / platform shoes were largely inspired by KISS, the iconic 70’s rock band that donned a similar shaped footwear with pointed toes and stiletto heels. since the first introduction in the aw19 collection, the boots has been a mainstay in the rick owen’s shows.

this boots from the ss20 ‘TECTUAL’ collection is one of the better variations that has been shown on the runway. featuring a shin-high cut, this boots has the classic transparent heel and a painted bevel detail around the toe. stacked wooden soles can also be found at the front, as well as 2 eyelets near the top of the boots.
