the spring summer 1994 titled, cafe society was one of the most memorable collection in fashion history. it was influenced by a myriad of historical references such as the 17th century paintings of van dyck and late 19th century of french fashion, citied the creations of the first haute couture house. the collection served as a reprensentation of westwood aesthetics, infusing her historical cultures and punk subculture. the runway was presented with famous models including kate moss, naomi campbell, christy turlington and eva herzigova, each making their own powerful entrance with faces covered in powder as they twirled sashayed and smoked cigarettes while walking the show.
this denim was one of the prominent pieces from the collection, featuring a leopard pattern printed throughout with contrast red stitching. vivienne westwood’s iconic saturn orb is embossed on the gold-toned button.
